KEEP BRITAIN DANCING RESEARCH PROJECT

Website demo
Keep Britain Dancing is a research-led interactive project outlining the journey from post-war Caribbean migration to the jungle and drum & bass scenes of contemporary London. It asks how graphic design can create a tangible sense of belonging for those who feel disconnected from their heritage.

The project combines a 2000 word Harvard-referenced essay with a six-section interactive website built in Framer. Archival imagery sourced from the BFI, British Pathé, and museum collections sits alongside original rave photography, audio comparisons, and interactive timelines.

The website invites visitors to explore themes of invitation, erasure, a musical timeline, rebranding, and an archive turning historical research into a navigable, participatory archive.

Primary research came from field work where i attended jungle raves, experimentally shooting on film and digita to document atmosphere hand.

Secondary research drew on YouTube archives (British Pathé, BBC documentaries), online museum collections (BFI, British Library, V&A), and recommendations from mentors and peers

My network of creative contacts also pointed me toward relevant documentaries and oral histories that wouldn't have surfaced through search alone.

The result is an honest archive built from publicly accessible sources, original photography and finding links between my sources to create a research backed narrative.
